Here’s Why You Keep Seeing Videos Of People Throwing Their Shoes On Twitter

It seems like every week there’s some new viral trend or challenge taking over social media. Last week, people were hilariously tossing cheese on their unsuspecting children and this week people are throwing their shoes everywhere.

To clarify, Twitter users are taking videos of themselves throwing their Vans across the room and watching them land right side up every time.

By now, you’ve likely seen the dozens of Twitter videos featuring people tossing their Vans in the air.

It all began when Twitter user @Ibelievthehype shared a video saying “Did you know it doesn’t matter how you throw your Vans they will land facing up.”

Of course, people became curious and wanted to test the theory themselves.

And thus, a challenge was born.

Some users took the challenge to a new level, tossing their shoes from a second floor.

And other participants appeared to debunk the theory.

Some attributed the feat to Vans’ heavy soles.

But it wasn’t long before people attempted the challenge with other shoe brands like Crocs.

One thing’s for sure, people have way too much time on their hands.
