Man Carrying Handgun In Waistband Shoots Himself In The Groin At Walmart

An unidentified Arizona man accidentally shot himself in the groin inside a Walmart in Buckeye, Maricopa County last Tuesday.

The local police department tweeted on Tuesday that officers were working a “self-inflicted accidental shooting” inside the Watson and Yuma Walmart. There were no other injuries and the man was taken to hospital.

The Arizona Republic newspaper reported that the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a semiautomatic handgun the man was keeping unholstered in the waistband of his sweatpants began to slip. He told police that when he tried to grab it to reposition it from falling, it went off and shot his groin area.

According to Arizona Republic, officers responding to the gun shot found in the meat section of the store with “survivable injuries.” Officers said they believe the shooting was accidental but still filed a report for unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Though we do not condone violence of any kind, Twitter is a different animal. The jokes poured in immediately.

It is unclear whether the man will be charged by the local police department.
